embossing on a transparency

Hi there! I got a package in the mail a couple of days ago from the fabulous Kim Kesti, so after I drooled over all of the yummy goodies she sent me, I set to work on a thank you card. The CARDS blog is issuing a challenge this week to use transparencies, and one of the articles in the Stamp It! magazine Kim sent me was about embossing on transparencies, so that was the inspiration for this card. I love the Chloe's Closet line by Making Memories so much that I hardly ever use it (is it weird to hoard supplies instead of sharing them?! lol), but I knew this was a perfect time to use it. In order to view the border on the transparency, I backed it with white cardstock. The bottom polka dot layer is Miss Elizabeth's. I trimmed the green paper to fit inside the border. I wanted to use this swirly butterfly image by Inkadinkado, so I stamped it in Versamark ink, along with the sentiment by Hero Arts. I dumped some white embossing powder on top and set it with my heat gun. (Note to self: powder is very clingy on transparencies.) I brushed off what I could, but the image is a little smudgy. I made sure to add glue dots behind the flowers and butterfly, so you can't see how I attached the transparency to the card ;) I added some color-coordinated gems and a bit of blue ribbon, and voila! A swirly, pretty thank you card! Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!

Great card Suzanne! I love the colors, they remind me of spring which is just around the corner! I am a terrible hoarder too, sometimes it's hard to let go of favorites, especially if they are discontinued.
