Diamond Bracelet

How funny is this quote?! My mom asked me to make a birthday card for her friend, but I didn't know where to start. I started going through my birthday sentiments to see if anything sparked me, and as soon as I saw this quote I was off and running. I got the image in a swap (Stampin' Up!, maybe?), and I thought it would be fun to go with a whole 50's theme. The white and blue patterned papers are Basic Grey, and the pink rose paper is K&Co. I used some yellow and peach scraps to use as mats, and a bit of green ribbon from Making Memories. The "diamond" button I got at a yard sale, and I think it just adds to the humor of the card. ;) I'm not in love with the colors I used on this card, but the patterned papers reminded me of 50's wallpaper, so I really wanted to use them on this card, and so that's where I was pulling my colors from. I think it kind of works, but it's definitely not my usual style! :) Hope you get a kick out of it- my mom said her friend chuckled when she read it!!

PS- If I actually owned this stamp, I think I would have paper pieced the dresses to match the patterned papers I used, but since I got it in a swap, I decided to just leave it blank. :)

The paper you chose really does look retro and goes great with the image and the diamond button is the perfect final touch! A job well done!
