New Nest

Hi there! I know it's been an while, but last week we had a wicked winter storm blow through- 2 feet of incessant snow, so wet and heavy that it knocked our power out for 6 and a half days... it was SO awful. Not only the amount of time we had to deal without having power, but because it was so cold (we could see our breath!). We couldn't even get a hotel because so many people we were without power (150,000+) and had beat us to it. We were turned away from 9 different hotels before we gave up and had to go back home. Anyway, getting back to normal took a while, and so that's why I've been away so long!

The week before the storm my brother moved in to an apartment with his girlfriend, so I got them a mish-mosh of kitchen items and made this card to celebrate their new home. I thought the little owl paper from DCWV would be appropriate for this occasion, so I added some chipboard letters from the same Green Stack line to finish the sentiment. The "congrats on your" is a Fiskars stamp. I added a bit of wide green ribbon from Target and added the whole piece to some yellow Colorbok paper, and that was it! A simple but cute card. Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by! I have lots more to show you this week now that I'm back! :D

Your card is so cute, I love the words on the ribbon. And the different sized fonts are cute together. So sorry to hear about you losing your power for so long. That must have been miserable!! We thought we were going to lose power during our 4 feet of snow that we got in 5 days, but we were one of the very lucky ones!! I am grateful we didn't lose it. Thanks for the St. Patrick's Day card, I love it. I was hoping you'd post some of your other St. Patty's day cards on here so I could get some inspiration!

I'm so sorry you had to suffer through that. I'm glad you survived it and are back crafting and posting. It wouldn't be the same with out your blog posts. I love reading all of your entries.
Your card is super sweet. I agree with everything Heidi said. Love that ribbon and the paper.
Glad things are back to normal and you're warm.
