you're the best

Hi friends! A quick post before I go off to the city today- my mom's Christmas present was tickets to see The Fantasticks, so we're going to hang out in Times Square, grab lunch and Tasti Dlite, and try to go to The Strand if there's time. We haven't been to the city in a few months, so I'm excited to get down there! :)

A coworker got me a shamrock plant for St. Patty's Day, so I wanted to make a cheerful, spring-y card to thank her. Recognize the paper? Yup, it's more of that My Mind's Eye goodness, with a little DCWV green diamond paper thrown in, and of course my new Nestabilities are making another appearance ;) I've had a box of blank DCWV Christmas cards hanging around, and I'm trying to be better about *using* them, so when I realized this lovely shade of aqua matched the flowers perfectly, it was a match made in heaven. Plus it's super sparkly- just a really happy shade of aqua! I'm not quite sure why they were packaged as "Christmas" cards- they can obviously be used all year round. When I look for my clearnace goodies, I try not to look at the packaging- you miss out on a lot of great/useful stuff otherwise! The circle die-cut came with the paper pad, so I cut that out, stamped the Fiskars sentiment on top, and added a bit of yummy orange polka dot American Crafts ribbon. A fairly simple card, but I just really love how it turned out. One of those cards I almost hate to give away- hehe! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! I plan to post my mini-muffin project tomorrow morning, so check back soon!

Your friend will love the card. It's a beauty. I love the shape of the nestability. It's perfect on your card. The colors are sweet too! I hope you have a fun time hanging out in times square. And enjoy the Fantastics!

Great card Suzanne. Hope you had fun in the city. I've never been, but we're planning a trip over July 4th weekend.
