Hi friends! A quick post tonight- my friend Tamara sent me these Precious Metal Alphabets from We R Memory Keepers for Christmas so of course I had to make her thank you card with them! The papers are K&Co and the pink thread is from my stash. I wasn't sure if the card needed something else, but I wanted the letters to stand out, so I decided to keep the rest of the card low key. Hi chums! I got tagged by my friend Jen to post the 6th picture in my 6th album. I cheated a little bit because my albums are in order of month, not year, so I went to the 6th oldest album. This is Christmas 2007, I believe. I think he's opening the Blue Planet DVD I gave him. That's my mom in the background :) Not a very exciting picture, but that takes care of that tag.

Thanks, Patti! Now I'm supposed to list 5 of my obsessions, so let's see what I can come up with...
- Sara Bareilles. I can't say this about too many people, but I love EVERY song on her album Little Voice. My friend turned me on to "Love Song" and I've been hooked ever since (about a year, I guess?) I'm a sucker for piano rock, for sure.
- Candles. I burn them in our fireplace for a comfy-cozy effect.
- Blogs. I have a whole list of blogs I stalk right after checking my email when I get in from work every day.
- 80's/90's TV shows on DVD. I've got My So-Called Life, Doogie Howser, Charles in Charge, Saved by the Bell, Party of Five, 90210, Growing Pains, Family Ties, and my favorite of course is Blossom. :)
- Reading. I read for at least 45 minutes every week day during my lunch break. I try to read more when I'm home, but that doesn't always happen. Right now, I'm reading The Little Women- not to be confused with Little Women. This is a modern twist loosely based off the classic.. I haven't decided if I love it yet.
Okay, I *think* that catches me up on my tags. I would continue the tagging, but I'm pretty sure at this point anyone I would tag has already played. I may post a card later, I'll see how my night goes. Hope you all have a great start to your weekend!

Hi friends! These are the thank you cards I mass-produced for all the Christmas gifts I received. I had 16 thank yous to send out, so I settled on two different cards, 8 of each.
On the first card I used some DCWV cardstock that I bought a year or two ago and have been meaning to use. The red, blue plaid, and white grid papers are Martha Stewart and the snowflake brad I believe is by Hot off the Press. I got the little blue flowers in a swap, but they're made of fabric, not paper :) I used my (then) new Fiskars treading water punch and my Marvy Uchida scalloped circle (2") punch. The sentiment and heart are Fiskars stamps, and I clear embossed the heart for fun (I hope it shows up). I think that's everything for that card. I played around with the layout because I've been reeeeeally trying to show off my patterned papers :)
The second card is one of my favorites. I love its simplicity and color scheme :D The patterned papers are also DCWV; the sea foam green is KI Memories and the tan circle is K&Co. I used my Cuttlebug for texture, an EK Success corner rounder, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. This card was super easy to mass produce and didn't take nearly as long to put together as the first card.

Hello friends! I made this super simple card for my cousin Brad's birthday. What looks like dotted patterned paper is actually the way the card came- I believe it's by DCWV. The card came in a kit with a mish-mosh of DCWV supplies (oh how I miss the mega-Joann's store that closed), so this is another one of my attempts to use up older supplies. The tan paper is K&Co and I think it matches the tan in the dotted paper pretty well, plus it was mute enough to let the crown stand out. The crown is a giant piece of chipboard by Colorbok. The King for a Day sentiment is actually a vellum sticker by K&Co, but I put it on light colored patterned paper (by DCWV) so it would be legible. I was going to add gems to the lower part of the crown, but then I figured the circles' doodlieness would be covered up and the crown would lose some of its charm, so I left it alone. But all in all it's a very simple card; I wanted to let the chipboard be the star of the show and I think I accomplished that. By the way, the card is 5.5" by 5.5", so I think the chipboard was just about 4.5" by 4.5" (pretty big, no?) :) Anyway, I hope you enjoy my attempt at another masculine card, thanks for checking in!

This is 100% my favorite guilty pleasure! I LOVED this show when I was younger and it just came out on DVD today! I waited yearrrrrs for it to come out, so I'm beyond excited to have possession of seasons 1 and 2. I'm off to go watch the pilot episode in a minute, but before I do here is the last of the cards in my secret santa's card set:
The cupcake image is by Inkadinkado, and I stamped it on different papers and peiced it together. The ribbon is American Crafts (bought at Goodwill for $.49- yesss!), the photo corner is Making Memories and the gems are by Darice (those kind you buy for a buck at Michael's). I used my new Fiskars Treading Water punch, which I loooove but wish I didn't have to line up so much in order to get a straight border! :) Anyway, I thought this was a super fun card- I can't resist anything with cupcakes on it! I hope you like it as much as I do :) I'll check in tomorrow and try post the rest of what was in the gift set. Thanks for popping by!

All of the paper is K&Co, the sentiment is Hero Arts and the buttons were from my stash. I used a paper punch by EK Success for the circles and this card came together very quickly. I really like the simplicity of it and the background paper is one of my favorites. I hope you like it as much as I do! :)
I've been working on my Valentine's Day cards... for my dad's class I used cards from a kit (bought on clearance last year, of course!) so those went SUPER fast. I didn't spend much time/effort on them because eight-year-olds probably wouldn't appreciate my work anyway ;) I'll post them next week anyway, but I'm off to work on VDay cards for my family and friends now! Hi everyone! First, the happy news- I just checked Kim Kesti's blog a little while ago and to my complete amazement, my name was listed as having won a prize for last week's challenge Thursday! woo! I'm sure most of you know she works for Paper Crafts Magazine, but you should check out her blog if you don't already. Her style is so fun and colorful; I truly admire her work. Plus, I love that she's giving us challenges, I can't get enough of them, even if I don't post my creations on time! :D
Okay, moving on to less exciting news... today's post is another of the cards in the gift set for my secret santa. I used a 3x3 thank you embellishment from a swap and matched it up with more K&Co paper. I used my handy-dandy cuttlebug and some soft green sheer ribbon to complete the card. I had to sit a heavy book on top of the ribbon to flatten it out, I don't know why it got so flippy! :)
I just got my issue of Paper Crafts today, so I'm off to devour that and get started on making some VDay cards for my dad to give to his students! Hope you're having a great week, thanks for popping by!
