Easter challenges...

Hi everyone! This is SO unlike me to be so far ahead of schedule, but I'm loving it! I started working on Easter cards last night, and I used a couple of challenges as guides. The first one is Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #58. Taylor is celebrating her blogaversary this weekend, so you should check out her blog and try to win some freebies! :) Below is the sketch and my take on it:

I got a bunch of stuff in an Easter swap or two last year, and I've really been trying to use up my stash. (See Rae Barthel's post on Monday for the very first Use It! Challenge) The square elements are foam embellishments on top of DCWV cardstock. The easter newsprint, dots and green gingham are from Making Memories' line Garden Party. The yellow patterned paper and purple cardstock were scraps and I jazzed up the purple with my Fiskars Treading Water punch. I used my Fiskars shape cutter for the ovals and used Colorbox chalk inks. The sentiment is a clear Queen & Co stamp (I got a set of 7 or 8 little stamps for something crazy like $2 at the CKC in Hartford last October :D). The aqua ribbon (Target's Club Wedd line) was a total score. I found it on the bottom shelf of my favorite dollar store among the curling ribbons (hello, they are SO not the same!). 15 YARDS for $1. Amazing.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Okay, on to card #2. I combined two challenges into this one card- the sketch is from Mojo Monday #76 and Caardvarks is challenging us card-makers to use critters on their latest creations, which is hardly a challenge for me as I heart animals. Both sites also have a sweet prizes, so you should check out their blogs too! Here is my entry:

Again, more Making Memories paper and the die-cut is from the same line. More fabbie aqua ribbon, DCWV yellow cardstock, Scrapbook Factory purple beads (? I don't know what to call them- they're plastic dots, really) and a Studio G stamped sentiment. The image came from a swap, but I added just a touch of color to the ears and nose w/ my Copic marker (Blush).

Hope you enjoy both cards and happy Friday! :D
